We gather and store certain information about the users of MTPO in order to better understand and meet the needs of our users, diagnose problems with our server, and administer our website. This information does not identify you personally.

Cookies
A “cookie” is information stored on your workstation by a web server and used to customize your web service in some way. MTPO uses a session cookie to store a session ID, which facilitates features such as “My Folder.” No information other than the session ID is recorded, and the cookie expires when you close the browser window. For users who have disabled cookies, the session ID is stored in the URL.

Users who choose to provide us with personal information, such as an email address in the feedback form, should know that access to this information is restricted to project staff who need to use it in the normal course of business. This information is never used for commercial marketing purposes, and it will never be revealed to any third party except by such process, order, or subpoena authorized by national, state or local law.

MTPO links out to other sites and services that are not controlled by the site sponsors. You must read the privacy statements at these external sites to learn of their privacy policies. Additionally, the project sponsors have no control over and are not responsible for the privacy practices of other external sites and services that may be accessible from the MTPO site. Individuals are encouraged to review the policies of these entities as well.
Site Security
To guard against unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and promote the correct use of information, we have implemented physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
However, while we consider these measures reasonable, no guarantee can be given that they will always and in all cases prevent or protect against invalid access or improper activity. For this reason, we avoid keeping information beyond the term of its primary use and, where possible, encrypt or delete data elements that might enable activities to be linked to individual users.
