Short Biography |
The Clemenses’ coachman, Patrick McAleer, was born in County Tyrone, Ireland, and emigrated to America at age sixteen. He served the family first in Buffalo, New York, and then at their Hartford home (1870–91), and made a brief return to SLC’s household in Dublin, New Hampshire, in 1905–6. He married Mary Reagan of Elmira, New York, with whom he had nine children. |
